MDA is a national health organization dedicated to finding treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases. It provides medical services and equipment, including support groups, a one-week summer camp program, and wheelchairs/leg braces/communication devices. Locally, MDA also funds clinics, located at Georgetown University Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, Maryland General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins University Outpatient Center. All funds raised at the Heartsongs Gala will help over 5,000 families MDA serves in the Washington area.
